Sometimes thoughts just come about from mere practicality and usefulness, some from annoyance. None other than the LazeTowel.

Our story begins with a pair of best friends (Greg & Matt) who scheduled a double header of golf on a hot summer Saturday. After a quick first round, these golf buddies headed to the pool and started setting up their chairs to sit down, relax and enjoy lunch before their next round. Laying a towel over the back and down the lounge chair, the pair quickly hopped on each of their chairs just to burn their legs on the end where the towel fell short.

After a quick bite, Greg decided to cool down and got up off his lounge chair to jump in the pool. As he got up, his towel slid down the chair much to his dismay. Once he got out of the pool, he miserably grumbled about having to put the towel back up on the chair, how it was not long enough and about it flying away in the wind all the time. At the same moment, Matt was attempting to get comfortable in his chair to take a nap, taking his t-shirt and attempting to fold it up to make himself a makeshift pillow. Both of them became quite irritated at the time. Greg remarked “why doesn’t someone just make a towel that stays on a chair and doesn’t fall off or fly away?” with Matt responding, “And why doesn’t someone just create a towel that has a pillow in it that’s adjustable?”. And with that they looked at each other and said in unison “Why doesn’t someone make this?”. Whipping out their Blackberrys, they both quickly perused their phones for items that might resemble the thoughts in their heads.

With nothing found on the internet that was patented or created already, the golf buddies spent the rest of their next golf round figuring out if this was just a crazy idea or something that had traction. By the end of their round, the pair were eager to jot some ideas down and sketch some preliminary drawings. By the end of dinner, the two agreed to at least pursue the idea and made an appointment with a patent attorney for bright and early Monday morning.

By Monday morning, the two best friends signed their life away, agreeing to pursue a number of patents with their ideas. And with that, LazeTowel was born.
